UV DTF Application Instructions

UV DTF decals are designed for compatible hard, smooth surfaces and do not require a heat press. Follow these instructions carefully for proper adhesion and a clean finish.

Recommended Surfaces

UV DTF decals generally work best on:

  • Glass

  • Acrylic

  • Metal

  • Ceramic

  • Hard plastic

  • Other clean, smooth, nonporous surfaces

Avoid applying UV DTF to fabric, silicone, rubber, paper, unsealed wood, textured surfaces, or surfaces coated with oil or moisture.

Application Instructions

1. Clean the Surface

Clean the application area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Remove all dust, grease, fingerprints, and residue. Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the decal.

2. Prepare the Decal

Place the decal on a flat surface and firmly rub across the design using a squeegee or application card. This helps the design adhere properly to the clear transfer film.

3. Remove the Backing

Slowly peel away the backing film to expose the adhesive side of the design. Avoid touching the adhesive because fingerprints and oils may reduce adhesion.

4. Position the Design

Carefully align the decal before it touches the surface. UV DTF decals are not easily repositioned after contact. For the best result, begin applying from one edge and gradually smooth the design onto the surface.

5. Press Firmly

Rub firmly across the entire design using your fingers, a squeegee, or an application card. Pay close attention to small lettering, edges, and fine details. Allow the decal to rest for several minutes when possible.

6. Remove the Clear Film

Slowly peel away the clear transfer film at a sharp angle. If any part of the design begins lifting, place the film back down, rub the area firmly, and peel again slowly.

After Application

Allow the decal to set for 24–48 hours before washing or heavy use. This gives the adhesive time to create a stronger bond.

For better durability:

  • Handwash only

  • Do not soak or scrub the design

  • Avoid abrasive sponges and harsh chemicals

  • Do not place in the dishwasher or microwave

  • Keep away from extreme heat

  • Do not apply over areas that contact food or the mouth

Important Notice

UV DTF decals work best on smooth, clean, nonporous surfaces. Adhesion and durability may vary depending on the surface, cleaning method, application, and care. Always test an unfamiliar surface before completing a larger project.

UV DTF decals are intended for hard surfaces and should not be applied to clothing or fabric.
